2021 NAPLAN Requirements for Years 3, 5, 7, 9 students
In 2021, ACARA are expected to conduct all NAPLAN testing on-line and each student participating in the testing at the College will be using their own device. With this in mind, it is imperative that the device is compatible with the technical requirement as outlined on the NAPLAN website. This is the information we currently have.
Every device used for NAPLAN testing requires the installation of the NAP Browser.
MacBooks: users can download and install the app from this site and laptops must be installed with MacOS 10.9 or later.
Windows laptops: users can download and install the app from this site and laptops must be installed with Windows version 7, 8 or 10.
iPad users must install the locked down browser app, available with a tap on the icon below:
NAPLAN app (All iPads used for NAPLAN testing must have this app installed)
The following iPads are not compatible with the NAPLAN testing:
- iPad 1 (2010), 2 (2011), 3 (2012), 4 (2012)
- all iPad Minis: 1 (2012), 2 (2103), 3 (2014), 4 (2015), 5 (2019)
These devices are no longer recommended for use at the College.
Only iPads (5th, 6th and 7th generations), iPad Airs and iPad Pros released since 2013 are compatible.
The College recommends that students in Years 3, 5, and 7 also use the following with their iPads:
- the latest iOS (iOS 13 / iPadOS)
- a keyboard
- wired ear buds or headphones
